Stabilization of image sequence without decrement of its resolution
Otruba, Vítězslav ; Říha, Kamil (referee) ; Číka, Petr (advisor)
The shake that affects the video camera during taking of the footage degrades the level of the viewer experience. This article contains the design of the method that stabilizes the stored footage and fills in the gaps in the separate frames, so the picture resolution remains the same after the process.
Techniques for movement detection and prediction in video sequences
Nešpor, Zdeněk ; Říha, Kamil (referee) ; Číka, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with techniques for motion detection and prediction in digital images. After an initial consideration over the need of digital video compression a basic concepts of digital video is introduced. The MPEG-1 video compression standard and using of motion detection and prediction inside the compression technique is described in the next part. The following part describes motion estimation methods. The most widely used motion estimation methods, block matching methods, are described in detail together with proposed improvements. The second part of this paper concentrates on a developed application in C++ language that demonstrates performance of described motion estimation techniques on slow, medium and fast motion. The results of testing and suitable method for each motion type is in the end of this work.
Temporal Tone-Mapping Methods for HDR Video
Staněk, Jiří ; Musil, Petr (referee) ; Nosko, Svetozár (advisor)
The diploma thesis provides the theoretical background needed to understand the complex topic of high dynamic range, and deals with the implementation of an innovative method for temporal video tone-mapping. At first, high dynamic range image acquisition, storage and processing are described. Afterwards, a general introduction to tone-mapping, description of undesirable image artifacts and an overview of existing state-of-the-art algorithms are presented. The part which follows focuses on the implementation of the chosen method and proposes several additional enhancements of the initially selected algorithm. Based on the information provided, an application with an intuitive graphical interface, which can be used for temporal HDR video tone-mapping, has been created. Finally, the the achieved results are demonstrated and visually compared with existing methods for temporal video tone-mapping.

Changes and development of digital video
Černý, Martin ; Čermák, Radim (advisor) ; Lisý, Martin (referee)
Final thesis deals with changes and development of digital video from the perspective of ordinary users. The aim is to describe how the amateur technology is getting closer to the professional video processing. This will be achieved by a description of the historical development of digital media and a comparison of amateur and professional technology. The part of thesis also deals with prerequisites for this development, which is the new camcorders, more high-efficiency computers, amateur editing programs and new approaches to video compression. The text provides a brief introduction to the topic of digital video, an overview of current technologies and asks questions about what the implications of this change are and what those changes could mean for the future.
